![]() What makes this a rather unique game is not so much that it is a simulation, but that it has very different focuses based on the platform. Simply titled Farming Simulator, the game arrived on console and, strictly from word-of-mouth alone, was an overnight success. ![]() They decision to release a console version with the Farming Simulator 13 release on Windows PC was a leap of faith that ended up paying off in extremes. But it was the increased demand and requests for a console version that truly caught the wizards behind the game by surprise. It is fair to say that one mark of the game success was found in its ability to recruit gamers from other genres where no other simulation title had managed that. When the first game in the FS series arrived on Windows PC it took the sim-gamer community by storm, which while it is nor really all that much of a surprise when you stop to consider how completely the game hit all of the marks in terms of functionality and challenge that are expected in that relatively small community, what was a surprise was the rapid manner in which the game quickly blurred genre lines. ![]() This is the review for the Xbox One Edition. Note: We previously reviewed the Windows PC version of the game – this review is for Microsoft’s Xbox One console and while the games are substantially the same, the game play and experience on Xbox One – and the other console editions – is uniquely different sufficient to justify another review!
